Abstract:Objective To explore the status quo and influencing factors of nutritional risk in elderly inpatients in Lu‐zhou City, and to provide a basis for formulating targeted clinical nutritional intervention strategies. Methods A total of 712 inpatients in the department of geriatrics of the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University from May 2023 to April 2024 were selected by fixed-point sampling. The nutritional risk screening 2022(NRS2002)tool was used to assess the nutritional risk, and demographic data, clinical indicators, laboratory test results and nutritional support status were collected.Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the influencing factors of nutritional risk. Results The preva‐lence of nutritional risk was 65.3%.Logistic regression analysis showed that lack of self-care ability[moderate depen‐dence(OR=2.749,95%CI:1.265-5.972);severe dependence(OR=6.544,95%CI:2.041-20.980)],critical illness(OR=1.650,95%CI:1.032-2.641),prolonged length of hospital stay(OR=1.148,95%CI:1.082-1.218),and ele‐vated white blood cell count(OR=1.094,95%CI:1.019-1.175)were risk factors for nutritional risk.Education level of junior middle school and above(OR=0.344,95%CI:0.142-0.836),urban residential status(OR=0.630,95%CI:0.399-0.996)and higher prealbumin level(OR=0.988,95%CI:0.984-0.992)were protective factors(all P<0.05).Conclusions The prevalence of nutritional risk is high among elderly inpatients in Luzhou City.Early screening and mul‐tidisciplinary intervention should be carried out for these patients to optimize nutritional support strategies.
