Research progress on screening and assessment tools for sarcopenia in chronic kidney disease

Abstract：Sarcopenia is highly prevalent among patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD),leading to diminished self-care ability,reduced quality of life,increased risk of complications,and higher mortality rates.Early identification of patients with sarcopenia or at high risk of sarcopenia plays a crucial role in promoting effective management of sarcopenia in CKD.This article reviews screening and assessment tools for sarcopenia in CKD,compares and analyzes different screening and assessment tools,and provides recommendations for their use,aiming to provide a reference for the screen-ing of sarcopenia in CKD patients.
