Abstract:Objective To investigate the risk factors for recurrence of acute pancreatitis(AP)in the elderly.Meth-ods A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data from 122 elderly AP patients admitted to Henan Provincial People's Hospital between December 2016 and March 2024.Follow-up records were used to identify recurrence, and clini-cal characteristics were compared between recurrent and non-recurrent groups.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify independent risk factors for AP recurrence. Results Univariate analysis revealed that age,hyper-tension,diabetes,anatomical abnormalities of the pancreas, and severity of AP were significantly associated with recur-rence(all P<0.05).The result of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age(OR=0.924,95%CI:0.874-0.978,P=0.006)and anatomical abnormalities of the pancreas(OR=3.261,95%CI:1.154-9.214,P=0.026)were in-dependent risk factors for the recurrence of AP in the elderly. Conclusion Elderly AP patients with advanced age and abnormal pancreatic anatomy are more prone to recurrence, which requires the attention of clinicians.
