Diagnosis and treatment of a case of urachal carcinoma

Abstract：Urachal adeno carcinoma is a rare clinical entity,predominantly occurring in the middle and lower seg-ments of the urachus and at the junction with the bladder.Due to its non-specific clinical manifestations,it is highly prone to missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis.The patient was admitted with a one-week history of an umbilical mass.Abdominal ultrasound and CT scan revealed a soft tissue lesion in the umbilical region.Histopathological biopsy confirmed the diagno-sis of urachal adenocarcinoma,and radical urachal carcinoma resection was subsequently performed.Postoperative patho-logical examination identified a well-differentiated urachal adenocarcinoma.
