Potential profile analysis of senile chronic disease patients with meaningless anxiety

Abstract：Objective To analyze the potential category and influencing factors of the presence of meaningless anxi-ety in elderly patients with chronic diseases.Methods A total of 272 elderly chronic disease patients≥60 years old in the First Hospital of Jinzhou Medical University,and the park of Linghe District,Guta District in Jinzhou City,Liaoning Province were studied by convenience sampling method.The Presence of Meaningless Anxiety Scale,the Family Caring In-dex Questionnaire,and the Asens Insomnia Scale(AIS)were used to investigate the elderly patients with chronic diseas-es.Potential profile analysis was used to explore the potential categories of meaningless anxiety,and multiple logistic re-gression was used to analyze the influencing factors of different categories.Results Three potential categories of existen-tial meaninglessness anxiety existed in elderly patients with chronic diseases,named as low existential meaninglessness anxiety(11.8%),medium life meaninglessness high unintelligibility(26.5%),and high life meaninglessness medium unintelligibility(61.7%).Logistic regression analysis showed that gender,place of residence,literacy level,marital sta-tus,monthly household income,and healthcare payment method,type of chronic disease,duration of illness,family care,and insomnia were influential factors in the potential category of the presence of meaninglessness anxiety in elderly patients with chronic diseases(all P<0.05).Conclusions The presence of meaninglessness anxiety in elderly patients with chronic diseases can be categorized into three characteristic manifestations:low presence of meaninglessness anxiety,medium life meaninglessness with high incomprehension and high life meaninglessness with medium incomprehension,and the manifestations vary in terms of gender,marital status,type of chronic disease,duration of illness,family caring degree and insomnia.
