Risk factors of frailty in elderly patients with heart failure:a meta-analysis

Abstract：Objective To explore the risk factors associated with frailty in elderly patients with heart failure.Meth-ods Systematic retrieves for risk factors of frailty in elderly heart failure patients were performed by Web of Science,PubMed,Cochrane Library,CNKI,VIP and WanFang database.The retrieval deadline was October 31,2022.Two re-viewers independently screened literatures,extracted data and evaluated quality,and Revman5.4 was used for meta-analy-sis.Results A total of 18 articles including 4 994 patients were analyzed.Meta-analysis showed that the risk factors of frailty in elderly heart failure patients were age(OR=1.08,95%CI:1.03-1.14);left atrial diameter(OR=1.14,95%CI:1.07-1.21);the number of comorbidities(OR=4.14,95%CI:1.41-12.15);polypharmacy(OR=2.38,95%CI:1.57-3.61);New York Heart Association(OR=3.58,95%CI:2.63-4.86);negative emotion(OR=3.98,95%CI:2.39-6.64);history of cerebrovascular diseases(OR=2.26,95%CI:1.49-3.42)and nutritional risk(OR=2.43,95%CI:1.40-4.21)(All P<0.05).Conclusions The occurrence of frailty in heart failure are affected by many factors in-cluding age,left atrial diameter,the number of comorbidities,polypharmacy,New York Heart Association,negative emo-tion,history of cerebrovascular diseases and nutritional risk.
