Abstract:Pathogenic microorganisms have caused significant losses to the animal farming industry, making the development of efficient and sensitive pathogen detection technologies highly important.Digital PCR(dPCR)is a third-generation PCR detection method characterized by high accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity. It enables absolute quantification of pathogenic microorganisms without relying on standard curves and has been widely applied in the field of veterinary diagnostics.Currently, numerous studies have reported the use of dPCR for detecting pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, mycoplasmas, and chlamydia. This review summarizes the fundamental principles of dPCR technology and its applications in animal pathogen detection, aiming to provide a reference for the broader adoption of dPCR technology in the fields of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine.
