Research progress on the nutritional and physiological effects of curcumin

Abstract：Curcumin is a green,safe,and effective novel feed additive and the main active substance in turmeric.It possesses various physiological functions such as antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,antibacterial,and immunity-enhancing effects,with low toxicity,easy extraction,and low cost,giving it broad application prospects in the feed industry.This article summarizes the nutritional and physiological effects of curcumin,including its impacts on animal glucose metabolism,immunity and antioxidant stress,intestinal mucosal barrier function,and reproductive performance,aiming to provide reference for the rational application of curcumin in animal diets.
