Jin Shengbing
Abstract:Scald injury is one of the common accidental injuries in dogs, which can easily damage the skin barrier and lead to secondary bacterial infections. This article reports a case of a large-area scalding caused by boiling water on the left shoulder and back of a 3-year-old male Corgi.Diagnosis was made through clinical symptom examination and laboratory tests, confirming severe bacterial infection and inflammatory response. The treatment plan involved surgical debridement and suturing combined with anti-infection therapy using the new veterinary drug, compound Staphylococcal enzyme chlorhexidine spray, supplemented with intravenous administration of cefquinome sodium. The spray was applied continuously for 10 days postoperatively, resulting in favorable wound healing.
