Epidemiological investigation of common bacterial diseases in Liangshan black sheep in Butuo County

Abstract:The study aims to understand the prevalence of bacterial diseases in Liangshan black sheep in Butuo County,Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.Throat swabs and fecal samples from sheep in various towns and townships of the area were collected.Four pathogens(Pasteurella,Streptococcus,Salmonella,and Mycoplasma)were detected by PCR method and the positive rates were statistically analyzed.The results showed that the positive rates of Pasteurella,Streptococcus,and Salmonella in Liangshan black sheep of Butuo County were 0,and the positive rate of Mycoplasma was 47.15%(116/246).Studies have shown that there is an epidemic of Mycoplasma in the Liangshan black sheep herd in Butuo County.The investigation and in-depth analysis of the epidemic situation of bacterial diseases in Liangshan black sheep in this area have provided a reference for the establishment of a local early warning mechanism for sheep diseases.
