Abstract:A 3-month-old British Shorthair cat with a purple and gold tabby color was found to have rapid breathing,an enlarged abdomen, reduced appetite and a depressed spirit by its owner,so it came to the hospital for treatment. After clinical examination, laboratory tests, imaging examinations and fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR detection of feline coronavirus,it is highly suspected that the cat has exudative feline infectious peritonitis. The treatment was based on the principles of targeted antiviral drugs and symptomatic treatment. After 12 days of inpatient treatment, the symptoms of the affected cat disappeared and all indicators were normal,so it was discharged. After discharge, the medication plan was adjusted and the treatment continued for 12 weeks.Eventually, the affected cat recovered.
