Study on local irritation and sensitization potential of fluralaner spot-on solution

Abstract:The experiment aimed to evaluate the irritability of fluralaner spot-on solution at the administration site and detect whether the preparation might cause delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions.Normal and broken skin irritation tests as well as ocular irritation tests were conducted on New Zealand rabbits,and skin sensitization tests were carried out on guinea pigs.The results showed that the fluralaner spot-on solution did not cause any skin erydness or edema or other irritating reactions on the normal and damaged skin of New Zealand rabbits.The irritating reactions to the eyes of New Zealand rabbits was between non-irritating and mild irritating,and no skin allergic reaction occurred in guinea pigs.Studies have shown that fluralaner spot-on solution are safe and non-allergenic to animal skin,but they are irritating to the eyes.When using them,care should be taken to avoid direct contact with the eyes.
