Abstract:porcine epidemic diarrhea(PED)is a highly contagious intestinal infectious disease caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV)infection. It is characterized by acute watery diarrhea, vomiting and a high mortality rate among newborn piglets.Since the outbreak of PED in China in 2010,PEDV has undergone multiple mutations. The cross-immune protection effect of vaccines against classic strains against variant strains is poor, and there are no specific drugs to treat this disease.Based on this, starting from the genomic and epidemiological characteristics of PEDV,this article focuses on introducing the research progress of laboratory diagnostic methods for PEDV,with the aim of provide a reference for the clinical diagnosis and prevention and control of this disease.
