Research progress on detection methods of porcine coronavirus
Wang Yidan
Abstract:Porcine diarrhea is a prevalent disease in swine farming, primarily caused by porcine coronaviruses such as transmissible gastroenteritis virus(TGEV),porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV),porcine deltacoronavirus(PDCoV),and swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus(SADS-CoV).These pathogens lead to increased mortality in piglets and growth retardation, resulting in severe economic losses while posing potential risks to biosafety and public health.Furthermore,co-infections with multiple porcine coronaviruses frequently occur during farming practices, significantly complicating the diagnosis and control of porcine diarrhea. Therefore, establishing efficient and precise detection methods is crucial to address these challenges effectively. This article reviews recent advances in diagnostic techniques for porcine coronaviruses, encompassing traditional assays as well as emerging molecular biology and immunological approaches. The review aims to provide scientific references for the prevention and control of porcine diarrhea, thereby supporting the sustainable development of the swine industry.
