Research status of the application of breeding technology for northeastern sika deer

Abstract：The northeastern sika deer is an important economic animal.With the continuous development of the deer industry,the selection and breeding of deer are of vital importance.Based on production practice,this article discusses the breeding techniques of sika deer from aspects such as the selection,rearing and reproduction of sika deer.In terms of breed selection,standards are determined from three aspects:Body shape and appearance,production performance,and genetic quality.Male deer needs to have a strong body shape,meet the standard for deer antler yield,and have stable genetics.Female deer need to have a well-proportioned body shape,good reproductive performance,and excellent genetic quality.The application of molecular breeding technology in the breeding of sika deer is still in its infancy.In terms of feeding and management,a suitable site should be selected,coarse and concentrated feed should be scientifically prepared,and attention should be paid to disease prevention.During the breeding process,it is necessary to rationally select and breed deer,adopt appropriate mating methods,and do a good job in pregnancy and childbirth management as well as breeding records.By applying reasonable breeding methods,deer herds with excellent genetics,high production performance and strong adaptability can be cultivated,and the production performance of sika deer can be improved.This is of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of the deer industry and enhancing economic benefits.
