Abstract:Peste des petits ruminants(PPR)is an acute, highly contagious disease caused by the Peste des petits ruminants virus(PPRV),primarily affecting small ruminants such as goats and sheep. Its main clinical features include high fever, mucopurulent ocular and nasal discharges, stomatitis, acute diarrhea, and mortality.Due to its high morbidity and mortality rates,PPR severely hinders the healthy development of the livestock industry and causes significant economic losses in agriculture. Therefore, analyzing the epidemiological characteristics, clinical features, and diagnostic techniques of PPR is crucial for its prevention and control. This article summarizes recent advances in the epidemiology and diagnostic technologies of PPR,aiming to provide references for disease management, diagnosis, and treatment.
