Abstract:Toxoplasma gondii is a zoonotic parasite that commonly infects cats, pigs, sheep, goats, and even humans, posing a serious threat to public health safety and causing certain economic losses.Due to the lack of specificity in the clinical manifestations of toxoplasmosis,a definitive diagnosis relies on laboratory diagnostic techniques.Currently, there is no effective vaccine for Toxoplasma gondii,so prevention and control mainly depend on strengthening food hygiene and maintaining environmental cleanliness. The article elaborates on the life cycle of Toxoplasma gondii and diagnostic methods, comprehensively analyzes its prevalence in different animals and countries or regions, and discusses its treatment methods and future prevention and control approaches.
