Abstract:This study aimed to evaluate the immunization efficacy, infection prevalence, and transmission risks of highly pathogenic avian influenza and Salmonella Pullorum in commercial poultry farms in Guiyang.A total of 1 135 serum samples and 550 cloacal swabs were collected from 55 commercial farms.Serological assays were utilized to detect highly pathogenic avian influenza antibodies(H5 and H7 subtypes)and Salmonella Pullorum antibodies, while fluorescent RT-PCR was employed for highly pathogenic avian influenza viral RNA screening. Results demonstrated that all farms tested negative for highly pathogenic avian influenza viral RNA.The individual seropositivity rates for avian influenza H5 and H7 subtypes were 91.89%(1 043/1 135)and 88.02%(999/1 135),respectively,with corresponding herd seropositivity rates of 90.91%(50/55)and 87.27%(48/55).In contrast,Salmonella Pullorum exhibited an individual seropositivity rate of 3.70%(42/1 135)and a herd positivity rate of 20.00%(11/55).These findings indicate robust avian influenza H5 and H7 subtypes immunity levels within Guiyang's poultry farms, with no active viral transmission detected. However, persistent Salmonella Pullorum infections highlight the necessity for enhanced zoonotic disease surveillance and targeted interventions, including optimized vaccination protocols,farm-specific pathogen eradication programs, and stricter biosecurity measures,to mitigate public health risks and ensure sustainable poultry production.
