Abstract:This paper analyzes the types, quantity and frequency of wild birds(natatores, raptors, grallatores, songbirds, and scansores)in Ordos City from 2017 to 2023,and discusses the rescue sources and rarity,so as to provide reference for the future wildlife rescue work in Ordos City. The results showed that from April 2017 to the end of 2023,a total of 641 birds of 81 species, belonging to 20 orders and 33 families, were rescued in Ordos Wildlife rescue management Station,of which 8.11%(52/641)of the key protected first class species animals and 53.04%(340/641)of the key protected second class species animals in China. On an annual basis, except for the high number of rescues in 2020(which is episodic and uncertain),the rest of the years show a steady linear trend.A total of 20 wild animals of 6 species were released back to the wild after rescue, and 380 animals of 38 species were raised and rehabilitated, with a survival rate of 59.28%.By analyzing the number, protection level, survival rate and rescue frequency of birds rescued, this paper discusses and summarizes more effective rescue methods for wild birds in order to promote the wildlife rescue work in Ordos City.
