A case report of suspected chemoreceptor tumor in a brachycephalic breed dog

Abstract:A 7-year-old male non-neuter brachycephalic breed dog was diagnosed as a cardiac tumor due to symptoms such as cyanosis of the tongue,exercise intolerance,and shortness of breath.After blood routine examination,blood biochemical examination,cardiac proBNP,myocardial calcium,X-ray and echocardiography,he was diagnosed as a chemoreceptor tumor.After the observation and treatment of oxygen inhalation in hospital,the owner reported that the breathing state of the dog was improved,the spirit was good,and the quality of life was not significantly affected.In the clinical diagnosis and treatment of small animals,cardiac tumors are rare and difficult to diagnose.This article recorded the diagnosis and treatment process of the canine cardiac tumor case,in order to provide reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of related diseases.
