Abstract：Silage is fresh,palatable and easy to digest,which plays an important role in the development of modern animal husbandry.However,the quality of silage is significantly affected by raw materials and fermentation conditions.In order to solve these problems,people constantly explore the types of raw materials and develop the best fermentation methods and fermentation equipment,and have made some progress.In this paper,the kinds of common silage raw materials and the control of fermentation conditions were summarized,the future development direction of silage was prospected,and the application potential of mechanization and digitalization was emphasized.
