Abstract：Cyperus esculentus L.is a kind of cash crop with strong adaptability,which has the characteristics of drought tolerance,short growth cycle and more grains.Cyperus esculentus L.tubers are rich in protein,sugar,and starch.Cyperus esculentus L.oil,Cyperus esculentus L.meal,and Cyperus esculentus L.stems and leaves have high nutritional value.At present,there are many researches on Cyperus esculentus L.and its by-products in the fields of food,biodiesel and medicine,but few researches on the application of Cyperus esculentus L.in the field of livestock breeding.In the paper,the nutritional composition of Cyperus esculentus L.and the application of by-products(Cyperus esculentus L.oil,Cyperus esculentus L.meal,and Cyperus esculentus L.stems and leaves)were summarized,which provided a reference for the application of Cyperus esculentus L.and its by-products in livestock and poultry production.
