Diagnosis of pigeon paramyxovirus type 1,pigeon circovirus and pigeon herpesvirus co-infection

Abstract：The aim of the study was to identify the sick pigeons with neurological symptoms in a meat pigeon farm in Guangxi and to provide corresponding prevention and control programs for the farm.The sick pigeons were diagnosed by clinical diagnosis,pathological anatomy,molecular biological detection,bacterial isolation,and virus isolation.The results showed that the liver and spleen were swollen,necrotic and mottled kidney.The results of molecular biological tests showed that PPMV-1,PiCV,and PiHV were positive.The samples were cultured with bacteria,and no bacteria were isolated.The results showed that the hemagglutination titer of allantoic fluid was stable at 8 log2,and its hemagglutination could be inhibited by NDV positive serum,but could not be inhibited by AIV positive serum.Studies have shown that the final diagnosis is a mixed infection of PPMV-1,PiCV,and PiHV.
