Abstract:The NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)is the most widely studied inflammatory body sensor and plays an important role in immune defense. The NLRP3 inflammasome is activated by triggering the effect protein Caspasel(Caspasel),and the pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and interleukin-18(IL-18)mature accordingly. The abnormal activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome is related to the development mechanism of inflammatory bowel disease, among which K+outflow, reactive oxygen species generation, and lysosome damage are important links in the inflammasome activation process. The article reviews the activation mechanism of the NLRP3 inflammasome and its role in inflammatory bowel disease.
