Abstract：With the continuous development of large-scale livestock and poultry production,the occurrence of animal diseases has become more frequent.However,prolonged antibiotic will enhance drug resistance,reduce animal immunity and increase drug residues Therefore,finding alternatives to antibiotics has become an urgent issue.Probiotics,as non-toxic,harmless,residue-free,and antibiotic-resistant green food additives,have become a hot research focus as alternatives to antibiotics.Lactobacillus casei,a common probiotic,can exert various beneficial effects on the host's body and is widely used in livestock production.The article reviews the classification,functional characteristics of Lactobacillus casei,and its current applications in livestock production,aiming to provide a reference for the widespread use of Lactobacillus casei in livestock production and future research.
