Abstract：The irregular use of antibiotics leads to the increase of drug-resistant bacterial strains year by year,which brings challenges to veterinary clinical diagnosis and treatment.In the context of reduced antibiotic replacement,it is urgent to develop new green and safe antibiotic replacement products.Bacteriophage lyase is an enzyme encoded by bacteriophage.Through the hydrolysis of peptidoglycan on bacterial cell wall,bactericidal effect can be produced on drug-resistant strains with high efficiency and rapid bactericidal effect.These advantages make phage lyase have the potential to overcome bacterial resistance and replace antibiotics to some extent.In the paper,the classification,structure,mode of action of lyase and the application of bacteriophage lyase in recent years were reviewed,in order to provide a reference for the development of antibacterial preparations of bacteriophage lyase.
