Effects of Radix cyathulae on some serum antioxidant indexes of Cichlasoma managuense

Abstract：The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of Radix cyathulae on some antioxidant indices of Cichlasoma managuense.A total of 450 Cichlasoma managuense with an initial body weight of(50.20±2.30)g were randomly divided into five groups with three replicates per group and 30 fish per replicate.The basal diet of each group was supplemented with 0,0.5％,1.0％,1.5％and 2.0％of Radix cyathulae powder,respectively.The experiment lasted for 28 days.The results showed that on the 21st day of the experiment,the serum GSH-Px activity of Cichlasoma managuense in the 2.0％Radix cyathulae supplemental group was significantly higher than that on the 14th and 28th days of the experiment(P＜0.05).It was significantly higher than that in the 0.5％Radix cyathulae supplemental group,1.0％Radix cyathulae supplemental group and 1.5％Radix cyathulae supplemental group(P＜0.05).On the 14th day of the experiment,the serum SOD activity of Cichlasoma managuense in the 1.5％Radix cyathulae supplemental group was significantly higher than that at other time points(P＜0.05).On the 21st day of the experiment,the serum CAT activity of Cichlasoma managuense in the 1.5％Radix cyathulae supplemental group was significantly higher than that on the 7th and 14th day(P＜0.05).On the 28th day of the experiment,the serum MDA concentrations of Cichlasoma managuense in the 0.5％ Radix cyathulae supplemental group and 1.0％Radix cyathulae supplemental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).On the 28th day of the experiment,serum T-AOC of the 1.0％Radix cyathulae supplemental group was significantly higher than that of the control group,0.5％Radix cyathulae supplemental group and 2.0％Radix cyathulae supplemental group(P＜0.05).The study indicates that Radix cyathulae can promote the antioxidant function of Cichlasoma managuense,but the optimal supplemental amount of Radix cyathulae to each antioxidant index is not the same.During the breeding process,0.5％Radix cyathulae powder can be added in advance,and then the supplemental amount of Radix cyathulae powder can be adjusted appropriately according to the actual situation to achieve the optimal breeding effect.
