Anesthetic effect and influence of zoletil combined with xylazine on Bama miniature pigs

Abstract：The aim of the experiment was to investigate the anesthetic effect of different doses of zoletil combined with xylazine in Bama miniature pigs and the effects on physiological indexes.Six Bama miniature pigs were anesthetized by intramuscular injection of zoletil 0.75 mg/kg+xylazine 6 mg/kg(the group A),zoletil 0.75 mg/kg+xylazine 12 mg/kg(the group B)and zoletil 1.00 mg/kg+xylazine 8 mg/kg(the group C)at intervals of more than 5 days,and the anesthetic effect was observed.The anal temperature,respiratory rate,SBP,DBP,MBP,ECG,blood routine and blood biochemistry were monitored.The results showed that the success rate of anesthesia in all groups was 100％,and the anesthesia state was good.The induction time of anesthesia in the group A,group B and group C was 5.17,4.17,and 4.67 min,respectively,with no significant difference(P＞0.05).The duration of anesthesia was 49.33,93.50,and 79.17 min,respectively,and the duration of anesthesia in the group A was significantly lower than that in the group B and group C(P＜0.05).The recovery time of anesthesia in the group C was significantly higher than that in the group A and group B(P＜0.05),which were 2.17,2.67,and 4.67 min,respectively.After anesthesia,the anal temperature,respiratory rate,SBP,DBP and MBP in all groups showed a decreasing trend,and the changes in the group B and group C were more obvious.Similarly,the Q-T interval of the each group was prolonged firstly,and then the QRS wave group and P-R interval were gradually involved.About 24 h after anesthesia,the blood routine indexes of pigs in all groups had no significant change,and the blood BUN concentration of pigs in the group A and the blood AST activity and BUN concentration of pigs in the group B and group C were significantly higher than those before anesthesia(P＜0.05).The study indicates that the Bama miniature pigs in each dose group quickly entere a safe and stable anesthetic state,and the anesthetic duration and physiological indexes of the animals can be controlled by adjusting the anesthetic dosage.
