Abstract:In order to research the effect of diets with different nutritional levels on the reproductive performance of Angus cows and the growth performance of calves, the experiment selected the healthy condition of the breed within two months, the weight of 500~600 kg,and the Angus cows in late pregnancy 24 heads were randomly divided into group Ⅰ(high nutritional level),group Ⅱ(low nutritional level)and group Ⅲ(medium nutritional level),with eight heads per group. The test cows in each group were fed diets with different levels of diet, and two stages of feeding trials were conducted in late pregnancy and lactation. The results showed that the first postpartum estrus time and the number of days of the first breeding were significantly less in group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ than in group Ⅲ(P<0.05).The acceptance rate of group Ⅰ and group Ⅲwere 25%higher than group Ⅱ.The weight of 3 and 4 month old calves in groupⅠwas significantly higher than that in groupⅡ(P<0.05),and the weight of 4 month old calves in group Ⅲ was significantly higher than that in group Ⅱ(P<0.05).Group Ⅱ and Group Ⅱ increased income by 27.19 yuan and 1 269.28 yuan. The results indicated that Angus cows fed high nutrient diets can improve reproductive performance, promote calf growth and development, and increase economic benefits.
