Abstract：Protein is an essential nutrient for ruminants, different levels of dietary protein can make rumen fermentation parameters change. This paper reviews the progress about the effect of different levels of dietary protein on rumen pH, NH3-N, VFA concentration and on rumen microbial flora composition ,to lay the foundation for further research.
