Application of fermented Chinese herbal additives on animal production

Abstract:Chinese herbal medicine has become a natural animal feed additive because of many ad-vantages, such as no resistance, no residue, etc. A series of biochemical reactions of microbes oc-cur in herbal fermentation process, so as a large number of active substances are extracted, which increase the effective herbal ingredients to improve the efficacy and produce a variety of metabo-lites. The herbal toxicity is reduced and the functional scope of traditional Chinese medicine is expanded after the fermentation. This paper mainly describe herbal fermentation technology, the functional characteristics and application on animal production.
