Establishment and Preliminary application of PCR typing for Clostridium perfringens

Abstract：In order to identify C.perfringens types quickly, six specific primers were designed for α-toxin, β-toxin, ε-toxin、ι-toxin、enterotoxin and β2-toxin conserved sequences, according to conserved sequence published in GenBank. The expected gene fragments were 283, 102, 172, 501, 422 and 255 bp. The results showed that the designed primers could amplify the target genes, the genes fragment size were as expected. And the method had high sensitivity and specificity. Four bo-vine samples were detected by the PCR method. The results showed that four clinical samples were all identified as type A C. perfringens. The PCR detection method can be used for typing of C. per-fringens.
