Progress on function and regulation of the intestinal mucosal barrier

Abstract：The gut is not only the main place of digestion, absorption of nutrients, but a body defensive barrier. Intestinal mucosal barrier including mucosal biological barrier, mechanical bar-rier, chemical barrier and immune barrier. Regardless of what kind of intestinal mucosal barrier is damaged, it will cause the different degree of damage which closely associated with the occur-rence of some diseases. This paper reviews the progress research on intestinal mucosal barrier function and regulation, in order to further understanding of intestinal mucosal barrier and pro-vide reference and help to treatment the disease caused by the injury.
