Abstract:Footrot is also called interdigital Phlegmon, which is a kind of acute or subacute in-flammation that affected interdigital skin even deeper soft tissue. The disease characterized by the separation of keratinous hoof from underlying epidermal tissue, inflammation often spread from interdigital skin to coronet and fetlock. The prognosis of footrot is lameness, even could not stand and exhibit general systemic symptom. Footrot is a kind of serious disease in cow hoof dis-eases, which could decreased appetite, milk secretion and also reduced the productivity of cattle farm, causing a severe economic loss to dairy farm and interfer the development of cattle indus-try. Therefore, it is important to study a rapid diagnosis method of Footrot, which may have the practical guidance significance in footrot final diagnosis, clinical cure and prophylaxis. Accord-ing to Bacteroides nodosus gene sequence, we designed primers BPP and set up PCR method. Experimen-tal result indicated that primers BPP possess higher specificity and sensitivity. The sensitivity has achieved 152.5 pg, and BPP possess commendable specificity, which can provide a definite diag-nosis for the presence of Bacteroides nodosus.
