Extraction of Water-Soluble Polysaccharides from Radix Pulsatilla

Abstract：To optimize the extraction procedure of water-soluble polysaccharides from Radix Pul-satilla, single factor test and orthogonal test were designed to investigate the effects of sol-id-liquid ratio, extraction time and number of extraction. The results showed that the optimal ex-tracting conditions were the solid-liquid ratio of 1:17, extraction time of 6 hrs and extracting 6 times at 100 ℃ in water. Under these conditions, the extraction percentage was up to 5.07%. This study provided the basis for further research of water-soluble polysaccharides in Radix Pulsatilla.
