Abstract：At present, foot-and-mouth disease is one of the animal diseases which seriously endan-ger Chinese pig industry,,and vaccination is an important prevention methord for this disease. New-ly developed Synthetic peptide vaccine of O-type foot-and-mouth disease in swine has aroused great attention for its high immunogenicity, good biological safety, differentiate infection from vacci-nation, and so on. Foot-and-mouth disease virus, the antigenic epitope of type O foot-and-mouth disease virus, and the research status of synthetic peptide vaccine of type O foot-and-mouth dis-ease of swine and its main characteristic are discussed in this article In order to provide refer-ences for the promotion and the application of this vaccination.
