Research on the effects of alfalfa on nutritional value of Liaoning Cashmere Goats

Abstract：Twenty Liaoning Cashmere Goats including four adult ewes, growing ewes, adult rams , growing rams and lambs were divided into group 1, group 2, group 3, group 4 and group 5 accordingly. The digestion, metabolism and utilization ablility of alfalfa in different kinds of Liaoning cashmere goat were de-tected in order to investigate the nutritional value of alfalfa. The result showed that apparent digestibility of CF,NDF,ADF and EE in group 1 were higher than others;the apparent metabolic rate and utilization rate of alfalfa energy in growing rams were higher than adult ewes and rams. The utilization rate of gross energy in lambs were lower than adult ewes and rams, growing ewes and rams, and there was an extremely significant difference in energy utilization rate between group 4 and group 5(P<0.01). The apparent digestibility of Ca, P, CF, NDF, ADF, CP and EE in group 5 were also lower than the other groups..
