Abstract：Egg yolk antibody is also called Immunoglobulin of yolk, IgY, it has many good qualities, for example high yield, low cost, good for production, little antigen required for producing an effective immune response, immunological detec-tion with high sensitivity, no side effects and stable, in recent years, we are not only research it more, but also know it more and more deeply. In this paper, we have reviewed the production, structure, characteristics of egg yolk antibody, and its ap-plication progress in prevention and diagnosis of serious animal diseases like Clas-sical swine fever, Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, Avian influenza and Foot and mouth disease.
