Effect of Medium-dose Ultraviolet A1 Phototherapy in the Treatment of 11 Cases with Plaque-like Morphea

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of medium-dose ultraviolet A1 photo-therapy in the treatment of plaque-like morphea.Methods:11 patients with plaque-like morphea were treated with medium-dose(30 J/cm2 ) ultraviolet A1 phototherapy.Each patient was treated for 30 sessions.Clinical evaluation was assessed by a scoring system created by elasticity, area, colour, pain and hardening of lesional plaques improved.Skin lesions were received 3 times path-ologic biopsies during treatment.The patients were followed up for 6 months.The efficacy after treatment were observed.Results:After 30-sessions of treatment, the scores of lesions were signifi-cantly reduced (Z=-3.85,P<0.05),clinical pathological manifestations improved.The clini-cal effect have no change after 6 months follow up.Conclusion:Medium-dose ultraviolet A1 pho-totherapy is effective for plaque-like morphea.
