Abstract:Objective:To detect the protein and mRNA expression levels of interleukin-17 and proportions of Th17 cells in peripheral blood of patients with Condyloma acuminatum ( CA) ,and to analyze their clinical significance .Methods:Venous blood samples were obtained from 36 patients with CA and 24 normal human controls .Flow cytometry was used to detect the percentage of Th 17 cells in peripheral blood , enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was performed to measure the plas-ma level of IL-17 protein, and real time fluorescence RT-PCR was performed to detect the mRNA expression level of IL-17 in peripheral blood .Results:The percentage of Th17 cells in peripheral blood was (0.89 ±0.15)% in patients with CA, significantly higher than that in normal human controls[(0.02 ±0.04)%] (t=6.85,P<0.05).Compared with normal controls, there was a significant increase in the plasma level and mRNA expression level of IL-17 in peripheral blood in patients with CA(both P<0.05).Conclusion:There is an elevated proportion of Th17 cells and an abnormal expression of IL-17 protein and mRNA in peripheral blood from patient with CA , in-dicating the possible roles of IL-17 and Th17 cells in the pathogenesis of CA .
