The Influence on Male and Female College Students'Psychological Personality Disorder and Quality of Life by Acne

Abstract：Objective:To compare the extent of the impact of acne on male and female college students ’ psychological personality tendencies and quality of life and relevant factors .Methods:The college students from seven universities in Guangzhou suffered from acne were interviewed with special lecture , on-the-spot medical advice , UPI and APSEA questionnaires .Results:Valid UPI questionnaires , male 286 and female 487 , and APSEA questionnaires , male 577 and female 779 , were collected.In UPI score≥25 persons, male was 24.1%and female was 25.5%.In APSEA score>80 persons, male was 9.2%and female was 8.8%.By X2 test,there was no significant difference between males and females .By spearman rank correlation method test , the result of e-valuating the relationship between acne severity and APSEA the total score >80 showed rmale>rfemale>0 , which indicates Acne severity have an association with APSEA total score >80 .And the correlation coefficient of males is higher than that of females .So males with severe acne have a higher likelihood of occurrence of abnormal psychology .Both male and female students showed the patient's psychological problems as anxiety , depression , social barriers and a lack of self-confi-dence.Compared with males, females are more likely to lose control, more dissatisfied with their appearance and more reluctant to contact with the outside .Conclusion:Acne has considerable in-fluence on the college students'psychological personality disorder and quality of life .Severe acne patients are affected more severely .Males with severe acne have a higher likelihood of occurrence of abnormal psychology .
