Research progress of anti-tumor mechanism of radiation therapy combined with immunotherapy

Abstract：Over 50%of malignant tumor patients require radiotherapy(RT)at various stages of antitumor therapy.RT can both induce an immunosuppressive environment in tumor-bearing hosts and break the body's immune tolerance to tumors,initiating specific anti-tumor immune responses,thereby playing the role of an immune adjuvant.In recent years,the systemic anti-tumor immune responses induced by RT show encouraging clinical application prospects.This article examines the optimal time window,dosage,and fractionated dose for RT-induced systemic antitumor responses,along with the challenges associated with the integration of radiotherapy and immunotherapy.
