Level and clinical significance of solute carrier family 7 member 11 antisense RNA 1 in non-small cell lung cancer tissues

Abstract：Objective To investigate the level of solute carrier family 7 member 11 antisense RNA 1(SLC7A11-AS1)in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)tissues and its association with clinicopathological features and prognosis.Methods A total of 92 NSCLC patients who underwent surgical treatment in Tianjin Cancer Hospital Qinhuangdao Hospital from January 2019 to December 2022 were selected,and their cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues were collected.The expression level of SLC7A11-AS1 was detected by real-time quantitative PCR.Its association with clinicopathological features was analyzed,and its relationship with postoperative recurrence was explored by combining follow-up data.Survival analysis was performed using the Kaplan-Meier method with survival curve plotting,and the Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of recurrence.Results The expression level of SLC7A11-AS1 in cancer tissues of 92 NSCLC patients was 5.274±1.678,higher than 1.270±0.622 in paracancerous tissues(t=21.467,P<0.001).Compared with the low-expression group,the high-expression group of SLC7A11-AS1 had a higher proportion of poorly differentiated tumors(50.0%vs.13.0%),larger tumors(>5 cm,34.8%vs.13.0%),higher proportion of T3-T4 stage(39.1%vs.10.9%),higher lymph node metastasis rate(60.9%vs.30.4%),and higher proportion of clinical stage Ⅲ(52.2%vs.23.9%)with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Univariate analysis showed that SLC7A11-AS1 expression level,T stage,N stage,clinical stage,tumor size,differentiation degree,and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Performance Status score were all associated with disease-free survival(P<0.05).The median disease-free survival in the high SLC7A11-AS1 expression group was 41.6 months,shorter than the unreached state in the low-expression group(Log-rank χ2=11.534,P<0.001).Multivariate analysis confirmed that high SLC7A11-AS1 expression(HR=2.352,95%CI:1.421～3.892,P=0.001)was an independent risk factor for prognosis.Conclusion SLC7A11-AS1 is highly expressed in NSCLC,and significantly associates with malignant tumor progression and poor prognosis.As an independent prognostic risk factor,SLC7A11-AS1 may serve as a potential target for the diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC.
