Abstract:Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is one of the gastrointestinal tumors with a significant disease burden in China, posing a serious threat to public health.Metabolic reprogramming,an emerging research focus in tumor biology, plays a pivotal role in tumorigenesis and progression. It refers to the phenomenon in which cancer cells readjust their metabolic pathways to meet the demands of rapid proliferation and growth. This metabolic remodeling not only affects the tumor cells themselves but also exerts profound effects on immune cell function and the overall tumor immune microenvironment.Research on metabolic reprogramming in ESCC has achieved a series of advances.By investigating the mechanistic alterations in glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, and amino acid metabolism, researchers aim to identify key metabolic reprogramming-related targets. These discoveries could help reveal novel therapeutic targets for ESCC,provide targeted treatment strategies, and offer new directions for improving therapeutic efficacy and prognosis.
