Treatment of Rectal Cancer Liver Metastasis with Recombinant Modified Human Tumor Necrosis Factor: A Case Report
Abstract:Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignant tumors of the digestive tract worldwide. Its incidence and mortality rank third among malignant tumors, and it is a global public health issue that seriously threatens human health. With the development of the economy, changes in lifestyle and dietary structure, the incidence of CRC has shown an increasing trend in recent years. Although there have been significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer in recent years, about 50% of patients are already in the advanced stage at initial diagnosis, with a low 5-year survival rate. One of the main reasons is treatment failure due to tumor metastasis [2], with 4%–19% of patients developing peritoneal implantation metastasis after radical surgery [3]. Liver metastasis and peritoneal metastasis are common metastatic routes for rectal cancer. Although there have been significant advances in the treatment and research of advanced rectal cancer over the past few decades, many challenges remain. Therefore, finding new treatment methods is one of the important goals in current rectal cancer research. This article summarizes the treatment experience of a case of rectal cancer liver metastasis admitted to our department, aiming to provide more basis for clinical treatment.
