Abstract:Objective To summarize the imaging features and clinicopathological characteristics of pregnancy-associated breast cancer(PABC)and compare them with non-pregnancy associated breast cancer(NPABC).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data, mammography and breast magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)findings,as well as puncture and surgical pathological results of 21 patients with PABC confirmed by clinical and surgical pathology. These results were compared with those from 42 patients diagnosed with NPABC.Results The age of NPABC patients was higher than that of PABC patients.Additionally, the proportion of patients with a second or more parity, the percentage with a family genetic history of breast cancer, and the recurrence and metastasis rate within five years were all lower in NPABC patients compared to PABC patients. These differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).No statistically significant difference was observed between PABC and NPABC patients regarding neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgical procedures(P>0.05).In terms of MRI findings,NPABC patients showed a higher rate of background mild enhancement,ACR subtype C proportion, multifocal involvement, diffusion limitation, molybdenum target X-ray calcification display rate, and involvement of two or more affected quadrants compared to PABC patients. These differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between PABC and NPABC patients in lesion length, affected side, morphology, edge gloss, lobulation,TIC curve type, peritumoral edema, surgical pathology, molecular typing, vascular invasion, and lymph node metastasis(P>0.05).Conclusion The prognosis of PABC is worse.Comparative analysis of the differences in imaging manifestations and clinical pathological results between the PABC and NPABC groups is beneficial for the early diagnosis and treatment of these lesions.
