Abstract:Gastric cancer,as an aggressive malignant tumor with high incidence and poor prognosis, can invade nerve fibers and promote the growth of nerve cells.Nerve fibers can also infiltrate into the tumor microenvironment to create conditions conducive to the survival and development of gastric cancer cells, thereby promoting the progression of gastric cancer. The dynamic interactions between cancer cells and neurons lead to neural invasion(PNI).As a clinicopathological feature of gastric cancer,it is multiply regulated by molecular mechanisms, such as neurotrophic factors, axon guidance factors, neurotransmitters, and immunity-related factors. These mechanisms lead to the close association of PNI with proliferation, angiogenesis, metastasis and poor prognosis of gastric cancer. This review provides a brief overview of the mechanisms, signaling pathways, and therapeutic measures of PNI in gastric cancer in the hope of providing new method for the treatment of gastric cancer.
