Abstract:Objective Tumor heterogeneity has been a hot topic in the field of malignant tumors in recent years, bringing new perspectives to address tumor metastasis, recurrence, and drug resistance. The continuous dynamic evolution and spatio-temporal progression of tumors lead to a high degree of heterogeneity in cellular and genetic variations within the tumor mass and between different tumor foci, posing challenges for achieving precise tumor diagnosis and treatment.Ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynecological malignancy, with the most common subtype being high-grade serous carcinoma, which exhibits extremely high heterogeneity. This heterogeneity manifests as spatio-temporal changes at molecular, cellular and anatomical levels, directly affecting patients'responses to surgery and/or systemic therapy and ultimately influencing prognosis. Therefore, this review discusses the research progress on the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma, aiming to provide some references for clinical treatment decisions.
