Expression and clinical significance of lncRNA related to epithelial mesenchymal transition LINC01116 in gastric cancer tissues

Abstract：Objective To explore the expression and clinical significance of lncRNA related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1116(LINC01116)in gastric cancer tissues.Methods Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect LINC01116 levels in 98 pairs of gastric cancer tissues and adjacent tissues.Clinical pathological and follow-up data were used to analyze the relationships of LINC01116 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of gastric cancer.Cox proportional hazards model was used for multivariate analysis.Results LINC01116 level in 98 gastric cancer tissues was 3.241±0.102,higher than the 1.308±0.046 in adjacent tissues(t=17.243,P<0.001).LINC01116 expression was not associated with gender,age,smoking history,alcohol consumption history,tumor size and depth of infiltration in gastric cancer patients(P>0.05),but associated with Lauren classification,TNM staging,degree of differentiation and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Univariate analysis revealed that the LINC01116 expression was associated with prognosis.The median overall survival of patients with low expression of LINC01116 was 58.0(95%CI:44.766-71.234)months,better than 29.0(95%CI:18.345-39.655)months in patients with high expression(P=0.002).Multivariate analysis showed that the LINC01116 expression was an independent prognostic factor for gastric cancer,while high expression of LINC01116 was a risk factor for poor prognosis of gastric cancer(HR=2.062,95%CI:1.134-3.750,P=0.018).Conclusion LINC01116 is highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and is associated with gastric cancer progression and poor prognosis,making it a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for gastric cancer.
