The expression and significance of MLF1IP and SIRT6 in gastric cancer

Abstract：Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of human myeloid leukemia factor 1 interacting protein gene(MLF1IP)and silencing information regulatory factor 6(SIRT6)in gastric cancer tissue.Methods Clinical medical records of 80 gastric cancer patients admitted to our hospital from December 2019 to December 2022 were selected.Detect the expression of MLF1IP and SIRT6 in gastric cancer tissue and adjacent tissues,and analyze the relationship between MLF1IP and SIRT6 expression and clinical pathological characteristics of gastric cancer.Follow up and draw survival curves.Results The positive expression rate of MLF1IP in cancer tissue was 65.0%(52/80),which was higher than 31.3%(25/80)in adjacent tissues,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);The positive expression rate of SIRT6 in gastric cancer tissue was 58.6%(47/80),lower than 88.6%(71/80)in adjacent tissues,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The expression of SIRT6 and MLF1IP was not correlated with age,gender,subtype,or BMI(P＞0.05);It is related to TNM staging,pathological grading,tumor diameter,lymph node metastasis,and infiltration of lymphatic spaces(P＜0.05).The survival rate of the SIRT6 positive expression group was 85.11%(40/47),while the survival rate of the SIRT6 negative expression group was 63.64%(21/33),with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05);The survival rate of the MLF1IP positive expression group was 69.23%(36/52),while the survival rate of the MLF1IP negative expression group was 89.29%(25/28),with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion The expression of MLF1IP is increased and the expression of SIRT6 is reduced in gastric cancer tissue.The positive expression of MLF1IP and SIRT6 is correlated with the clinical characteristics of gastric cancer,and the expression of MLF1IP and SIRT6 is closely related to the prognosis and survival of gastric cancer.
